Mrs. Jolee's baby shower!

So, here are some pics of another fun baby shower.  Such exciting times, as Mrs. Jolee prepares for her new little gentleman to arrive!

Maura is the designated cook for the month of April. (My month is May and I'm so looking forward to it and I have such plans for recipes...okay, deep breath.  Focus...)
Anyway, Maura (being the designated cook) prepared these amazingly scrumptious pinwheels....

...the recipe called for a little cream cheese.

"Do not be fooled by the drab tin foil wrapping; beneath them lie blissful bites of cheese, ham, and cream."

All is in readiness.  The other ladies brought all these other yummy munchables - hummus, chips, sausage balls, fruit salad, more chips...

...and don't forget the cake!

Oh, those were good.  Katie, your label is super cute.

"Salud!"

It's so great relaxing with our friends!

Opening gifts.

Lovely Mrs. Dana with her little ones (including Ethan, the newest and cutest :-)!

Wow, Emori, what adorable baby boots!

And now it's play time!

"Come on, guys!"

Thanks, Emily S. and Emily E.!  You have no idea how much Sadie loves being played with!

I think Sadie was the only candidate for swimming in the pool (aka cow watering trough).

"Should I jump?"

Congrats, Mrs. Jolee!

Resurrection Day

I hope everybody had a great Resurrection Day!

The day was just gorgeous.  Makes me remember how gracious our Lord is.  We are so blessed to be forgiven and born into a new life!

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."
 -- John 11:25-26

After service, we picked up a feast suitable for the occasion (Chinese take-out :-) ....

...then we repaired to Mamaw's house.

To complete our international cuisine, she made American style brownies.

 Ahh...brownies and ice cream.

 "I heart Ron Paul!"

"Got your hand caught in the won-ton jar!"

Chillin'

Let us go into le jardin...

Mama and Mamaw, two beautiful ladies (inside and out).

  Mamaw's garden is so beautiful.

"A Miss S, a Miss S, a Miss S, and...a Miss S."

Well, you've seen our day in a nutshell.  Thanks for stopping in!

Yours truly,

Kid care and yard work

I'm just now putting up pics of our four newest kids!

Having goats is so cool... we're not only blessed with the milk in springtime, but we have these cute babies to play with (and photoshoot).

Meet Hector (left) and Achilles (right).  Unlike the legendary heroes after whom they were christened, these boys are the best of friends :-)

Flicka is both a great mother and a star milker.

And here is Laura.  She's wondering if the taste of clover trumps that of milk.

She's quite the social type.  She doesn't know better than to chat with strange sheep.

Her bro, Bob, prefers to stay indoors.

Pastoral at its best.

"Mom, not in front of the guys!"

"Do you chew straw? Mind if I do?"

Lately we've been busy with yard improvement  (we had a lot to do :-)   Why all the trouble? I don't know... but I'll bet the spring weather is partly to blame.

So, I jump to the finale: a pine straw marathon.  Emori, the evil task master seen holding the wooden rod, saw to it that the complaining workers filled the whole trailer before heading home from the woods :-)

Our version of "American Gothic."

And I close with a sunset scene.  Actually, I'm not sure when this was taken... but, you know, it just seems right to place it at the end of the post :-).

 Thanks for dropping by!
 Yours truly,
Callie
