What do gardens, beehives, and graduates have in common? This post.

Hello Friends!
I'm afraid I must warn you -  this is another one of my disjointed, rambling blog posts.  This post spans a week or so's worth of events, and may leave you wondering exactly when, where, or why, these pictures where taken.

All I can say is, I hope you can enjoy it anyway!

Mamaw came to visit for a couple of days.  She is such an amazing lady...so full of energy and joy.   Anyway, Mamaw + Spring = Garden Work.  So, thats what we occupied ourselves with that April afternoon.

The daylillies finally bloomed, so I just had to turn one into megapixels.

This is Mamaw with her "What can I fertilize next?" face.

Resting in the shade.

A work in progress...the first mission in "Operation Brighten Up Drab Corner in the Back Yard."

Emori, taking a laundry break.

My personal ventures...

1.  Staking up our little fig tree. (And, I must add that the material used for tying is what remains of my old favorite t-shirt.  I believe it's a noble way for that article of clothing to go out, don't you?)

2.  Picking the first of the pole beans!  Isn't it so exciting to see the first fruits ripen?

Sister plants: bean vine scaling a cornstalk.

Sadie helped me assemble a couple of beehives...

3. ...So that we could pick up some bees!  I'm so excited to finally get our honeybees!  I'll let you know how it turns out.

This is a close-up of the fledgeling hive.  The black plastic thingy is a hive beetle trap.

4.  Last project on the list, but by no means least, this is macaroni pasta mixed with LIQUID GOLD.

Anybody seen that commercial?

Anybody?  Okay, never mind...moving on.

Here's Daddy...(caught him with his natural, handsome smile on!) Mr. Steve B. is in the background... but I'm afraid the camera girl cut part of him out.

And here's Katie, sorting through some of the graduation photos she took of Maura.  (By "some," I mean several thousand.)

Okay, that sums up the month of April...thanks for stopping in!

Yours,
Callie

  1. Spring is looking gorgeous in FL! We all had fun with ya'll last night at the movie. Thanks so much for coming up.

I think some of the most enjoyable posts are the ones more random in content. :)

    Great job, Callie!
    Love ya'll

    1. Thanks! We had a blast as well. I enjoyed reading your post, by the way. Did you ever find the "decorator" responsible for Eli's new window art? :-)

      Love y'all!
